What Is Petite?
Someone of shorter than average height, often 5'4" or under, and the term refers to clothing sizes and styles designed to fit smaller frames.
Research
For research I went to a few athletic apparel stores to see how difficult it could be to find clothes. I took photos and compared how the clothes fit on me compared to how they are advertised.
Conclusion
I left feeling frustrated and discouraged

Most stores do not cater to petite sizes
Each article of clothing comes with its own unique problem to be addressed

LOUIE’S mission is to provide petite clothing for active women that makes them feel confident and ready to tackle their next race.
The first prototype of the joggers was simple, yet very important to studying form. Helping me know how I want to design the joggers moving forward.
The first physical ideation of the shorts was to create a cinching mechanism for the user.
This is to aid the user in adjusting the crotch line to wear the shorts at different rises (low, mid, or high).

I took a new approach to the jacket, to give it a unique look and strung rope through the side to allow tightness to the torso.
I explored the idea of using rope to provide adjustability.
Having it loop in and out of the shorts allows a more visually interesting and dynamic piece.
Similarly with the joggers I wanted to add adjustability with exposed rope on the side seam.
